After receiving alerts about the high KP levels (almost 9!) and the geomagnetic storm (G4!!!!!!) I grabbed my camera and ventured out to find the aurora. I didn't have to look far. It didn't ripple or spike in my location, it just filled the sky ... and reflected off the ocean.
