Tree climber!

This is a White-Breasted Nuthatch that frequents our backyard birdfeeder in Virginia Beach. I was reading about this species a few days ago and that afternoon, while refilling the feeder, I saw one climbing DOWN the tree trunk to the ground!

I had just read that they are known for that - climbing headfirst down a tree, using their rear claws to grip the bark!
