Best lightning strike in downpour over Mutare

On Tuesday 2nd December, there were two separate thunderstorms in the vicinity of Mutare. The first which developed at lunchtime between 12.50 and 1.40 pm produced some weak lightning strikes in the vicinity of Murahwa Mountain and Hospital Hill. The second much more energetic storm which developed between 5.28 and 6.09 pm produced some spectacular lightning strikes and loud claps of thunder generated in the vicinity of heavy downpours of rain falling from an active cumulonimbus cloud above the City of Mutare.
