Supercool and worth a close

I have a special affinity for icicles and photographing them is one of my favorite things to do in winter. These icy sentinels forming everywhere, whether it is trees, rain gutters or even on cars. Just like snowflakes, no two icicles are alike and they often have the most interesting and bizarre shapes. Icicles are truly the absolute amazing Art of Nature! And they beckon to us to take a (very) close look at them, because the real fascination is in the details. For example: Even though they look and often feel super smooth, a look through a macro lens reveals that icicles are actually very rough and covered with tiny holes on the outside. And the inside is loaded with extremely small air bubbles, trapped in the Frozen World that clearly resembles a Micro Cosmos. Who knows, maybe our universe is simply the same: A small world that is trapped in a much larger space or Multiverse…? 😉
Anyway - ENJOY!
