On Friday 21st November, the very thin day old 1.6 % illuminated young Moon was observed setting in fading sunset twilight in almost clear sky above Hospital Hill to the WSW of Murambi Heights, Mutare. This followed five days of cold damp weather with almost continuous overcast and intermittent light rain after an evening thunderstorm on the 16th. By good fortune sharp close-up focus was obtained of the very thin young Moon descending shortly after it first became visible at 6.28 pm. This was maintained for nine passes through the camera field of view and is presented in a montage of extracted video frames.
