A Happy Egret

Great Egret fishing on the shallow part of the river. He has a bounce on his walk with his black long legs and with his beak open he seems to be singing with the wind. There were three pairs of mallards also fishing near the egret (mallards not in photo) but they didn't mind the presence of the egret and vice versa.

The scientific name for the great egret is Ardea alba. Ardea comes from the Latin word for heron; alba comes from the Latin word for "white."
