Green iguana in Puerto Rico
On 10/17/2025 04:33 pm by Armando Caussade | Website | San Juan, Puerto Rico
I was driving my car one afternoon as I returned from errands, and two blocks away from home I saw this green iguana crawling over the sidewalk. This specimen, measuring about a meter long, is similar to others I saw in previous occasions [see ECP #51154, #53976, #64681, #72312 and #77703]. Green iguanas (scientific name: Iguana iguana) are common in the tropics of the Western Hemisphere, including parts of the Caribbean, and are frequently seen in my area.
