Fall Foliage
On 10/21/2025 01:48 pm by Cecille Kennedy | Philomath, Oregon
From the gently sloping hill of Mount Union Cemetery there is a view of the distant Cascade Range and the trees in fall foliage with the evergreens. I framed the view with the tree branch with gold yellow leaves.
In 1861, Reuben Shipley donated 2 acres of his farm for the establishment of the cemetery on the condition that Black people could be buried there. The name given to the cemetery was chosen to show unity with the anti-slavery Northern forces during the Civil War.
