Cosmic Bat Nebula NGC1788 in Orion 1300 ly away

Probably the most exciting part of photographing this nebula is that it is in Orion and thus not the main attraction. It’s fun to try and do objects that are not as often photographed. There is another nebula named the Cosmic Bat Nebula. It is LDN 43 located in Ophiuchus and is considered a dark nebula. I suspect I will try to photography it as well in another 6 months.
This Cosmic Bat Nebula is about 1300 ly away. I haven’t quite figured out where the bat it is. I think it is just to the left of the blue part in the center. Or maybe in the big picture the mouth is open to the right, ears to the left and neck in the more yellow part. If you know, please share. I found this to be an unusually shaped and colored nebula. Quite interesting. Wikipedia lists it as 8’x8’ so relatively small.

This pic was a little more challenging to develop than some. This nebula is a bit more faint and smaller than some and thus bringing out the colors was part of the challenge.
