Haleakalā Supermoon

We decided to go on a last minute trip to Maui and as luck would have it, the supermoon occurred during our trip. Despite the government shutdown, the Haleakalā National Park remained open and staffed by hardworking Park Rangers. We scored a summit reservation for sunrise and arrived early enough to photograph the supermoon. My luck ran out when I realized I forgot my camera’s tripod. So, I used my iPhone’s night mode and was pleasantly surprised with the results. Mahalo.
