A gila woodpecker picks a viewpoint for the 98.23% waxing moonrise Sunday evening, atop the plastered rotunda at southern Arizona's historic Mission San José de Tumacácori. Monday's full "Harvest Moon" will rise at sunset and falls near perigee (a "super" moon), which means that it will appear about 7% larger than your average full moon.
