The Red-tailed hawk that really does have a red tail.

We have lots of hawks in Nebraska. And lots of them are Red-tailed hawks. The funny thing about Red-tailed hawks is that many of them don't actually have red tails. But this guy does. In fact this is about the most red tailed Red-tailed hawk I've seen. When I saw him on a light post I thought I'd wait around and get some pictures of him flying. Except he decided he wasn't going to fly while I was there. So I waited...and he waited. And so I waited some more, and so did he. I finally left, and for all I know, he's still on that light post, waiting for just the right field mouse to come along.
