The Monarch Chrysalis

Suspended under a leaf like a Christmas ornament, the chrysalis from a Monarch caterpillar is in the it's second stage of life. The transformation to get here is both fascinating to witness and time consuming. The next phase takes place in 8 to 14 days where the chrysalis opens in late summer to release a Monarch Butterfly.
