Great Blue Heron

Great Blue Heron standing still in the shallows waiting for its food to swim by.

It was standing like a statue, hidden in plain sight in the deeply shaded part of the creek wilderness as I was hiking along the opposite bank. The remarkably huge size gave it away. This is indeed an overwhelmingly large bird, up close.
