Titan transit
On 09/04/2025 03:00 am by David Hoskin | Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
I set the alarm this morning for 2 a.m. so that I could catch Titan transiting Jupiter. Seeing was not great so it was difficult to observe Titan's shadow in the eyepiece of my C8 SCT. However, the camera (ASI224MC with 2x focal extender) was able to capture the event!
Celestron C8 200mm SCT, ES 2x focal extender, ZWO ASI224MC camera with UV/IR cut filter, SkyWatcher EQ5 mount.
15000 frames of SER video were captured using SharpCap. The best 300 frames were stacked with AutoStakkert3, wavelets adjusted with Registax, and additional post processing with Photoshop.
