Indian Pond Lily and Bumblebee

Yellow pond lily (Nuphar polysepala) also known as Indian pond lily is a native Oregon plant with large floating leaves and yellow flowers, also known as wokas. I found this flower near the lake's edge. The bumblebee alighted on the flower and it was small that I at first thought it was a common fly.
Many Pacific Northwest tribes used its rootstocks as vegetable and seeds for food.
