Taipei Night Sky Before the Typhoon
On 08/12/2025 11:10 pm by Meiying Lee | Website | Taipei, Taiwan
On the night before a typhoon struck Taiwan, the Perseid meteor shower reached its peak. The sky over Taipei was unusually clear, with Polaris positioned directly above Taipei 101. Over the course of an hour-long exposure, perfectly circular star trails formed around Polaris, while numerous planes crossed the Taipei sky and the typhoon’s outer cloud bands continually streamed in from the east. On the left side, a Perseid meteor was perfectly captured.
