The 99% waning Moon and the mag 2.94 star, Deneb Algedi captured in a single exposure. Selective processing of the Moon and Deneb Algedi has delivered full detail of the lunar surface, without over-exposure and brightened the star to show it clearly in a single frame.
Deneb Algedi is the brightest star in Capricorn and is also known as Deneb Capricornus. It is the primary star in a binary system, with a mass and diameter of approximately twice that of the Sun. It is a giant star which has exhausted it's hydrogen supply and actually sits on the main sequence. It is also a chemically peculiar star with a calcium K-line of an A5 star, a hydrogen spectral type of an F0 and metallic absorption lines of an F2.
