Time for an energy drink

More experimenting with evening light. As the sun was setting I used low angle sun rays filtering through trees to backlight this western fox squirrel as it chewed through the bark of a red maple, drinking in the sugary sap. Sometimes they chew open a spot and let the sap thicken like maple syrup and then eat it, but not this guy, he drank and drank and drank. The chewing also helps to keep their teeth in good health. Nice to see them do this in the woods, less so in my yard where this behavior creates significant wounds on branches.
