Goldenrod Crab Spider

She's a Goldenrod Crab Spider who has made her home in my Showy Milkweed stand. I call her Artemis—these spiders don't use webs to catch their prey, they "hunt" them. I hadn't seen her for several weeks, although I did see her offspring hatch. On Sunday, she reappeared, guarding a new nest. Her eggs are in a folded tip of a leaf that she's glued shut with silk.
