Fireweed
On 07/31/2025 12:48 pm by Cecille Kennedy | Near Boiler Bay, Oregon
Fireweed (Chamaenerion angustifolium) blooms from June to September. The perennial purple pink flower spires commonly seen on the roadsides attract bees, flies, other insects and hummingbirds.
After the eruption of Mount Saint Helens in 1980, fireweed was one of the first plants to return to the ash-covered slopes.
