Star Trails Overhead

This stunning image shows star trails arcing across the summer sky, captured from directly overhead (zenith) in the United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪. The elegant curves are the result of Earth’s rotation, recorded over several hours. Some of the brighter bands belong to stars in the Milky Way’s galactic arm, visible as they pass through the zenith.

To create this composition, I captured 315 consecutive exposures, each lasting 45 seconds, using a Canon 6D with a 14mm wide-angle lens. The result is a powerful blend of motion, symmetry, and celestial geometry.

This image not only showcases the apparent motion of the stars, but also highlights the quiet beauty of the desert sky during summer.
