Great Blue Herons waking under July's setting Buck full moon

A photographer friend and I were looking for something to photograph with July's full moon, either moonrise or moonset. We each discussed some natural locations around our county as well as windmills, historic ranch buildings, etc. One day out on a bike ride, I rode by the heronry nearby and realized the Great Blue Herons were still with their probably soon-to-fledge nestlings. Using the PhotoPills App on my iPhone, I realized this had a perfect alignment with the setting moon and even allowed a second chance if Friday morning should be cloudy. Friday was perfectly clear and we both got the shots we were looking for.
