Bald Eagle Fred

This beautiful Bald Eagle, known as Fred, is 28 yrs old! We know his age due to the fact that he has bands that were placed on his ankles in May of 1997. These identification markers help researchers track the movements, health, and survival rates. Bald eagles can live 20-30 yrs in the wild, so it's amazing that he is still going, just fathered another eaglet this year, and doing so well.
