Crescent Moon with Corona among the stars!
On 07/21/2025 04:20 am by Adeel Shafiq | Website | Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan
This morning the waning crescent moon was in the Taurus constellation and was in close conjunction with the seven sisters, planet Venus, Hyades start cluster including Aldebaran and planet Venus just below it. To add to its beauty a thin layer of water laden high clouds in front of the moon caused it to have a lunar Corona around it which made it look magical.
A corona (plural coronae) is an optical phenomenon produced by the diffraction of sunlight or moonlight by individual small water droplets or tiny ice crystals of a cloud. In its full form, a corona consists of several concentric, pastel-colored rings around the celestial object and a central bright area called an aureole.
