Very Young Supermoon Setting.
On 06/26/2025 05:42 pm by Peter Lowenstein | Website | Mutare, Zimbabwe
Between 5.35 and 5.42 pm in the evening on 26th June there was a narrow window of opportunity to observe the very thin 1.9 % illuminated waxing crescent supermoon setting behind the summit of Transmitter Hill to the WNW of Mutare. Due to mixed glare from the recently set Sun and a volcanic sunset twilight arch, the Moon was only visible for seven minutes before it disappeared behind the mountain as shown in the accompanying timelapse montage.
