Stella Polaris at the 2022 Santa Barbara Solstice Parade, CA USA

For 51 years, Santa Barbara, CA USA has celebrated summer solstice annually with the Santa Barbara Solstice Parade on the Saturday on or right after summer solstice. For six to eight weeks prior to the parade, a workshop is available to allow artists, puppeteers, dancers, and musicians to construct all-new, non-motorized floats, backdrops, giant puppets, masks, and costumes. All are welcome. The photo is of the giant puppet I built and operated, "Stella Polaris", who participated in the parade in 2022; the theme was "Shine".
