Fresh from a morning dip

A bright morning sun illuminated this fast growing juvenile Canada goose browsing aquatic plants in a shallow side pool, separated from the rest of the lake by a thin peninsula. The pool offers protection from rough water during windy days (we get a lot of those here) and is a favorite spot for resident geese, ducks and transient waterfowl.
