Mirage at dawn
On 06/08/2025 05:42 am by Teresa Molinaro | Website | Santa Flavia, Sicily, Southern Italy
When the sun's rays pass through multiple layers of thermal inversion, they are distorted, generating phenomena known as mirages. In the photo I captured a superior mirage at dawn, given by the persistent overlapping of many layers of air between them. On the morning of June 8, the horizon was characterized by the presence of Saharan dust in suspension.
