Osprey In Nest

An osprey in the nest most likely incubating eggs. Now and then it would chirp in anticipation and I thought surely the other pair is coming now to take their turn incubating. When I left after almost an hour, no sign yet of the other pair.

While the female generally does most of the incubation duties, the male will also sit on the eggs to provide her with a break to eat and stretch her wings. The male's primary role during incubation is to bring food (fish) to the female.
