Mile 196 Pink Water Lily
On 06/04/2025 12:20 pm by Cecille Kennedy | Florence, Oregon
Along the scenic coast highway is a pond where water lilies bloom this time of year. They are an entrancing sight and I was happy to capture this pale pink beauty.
The water lilies attract bees, beetles and other pollinators.
The scientific name of water lily, Nymphaea odorata, suggests the plant's fragrant nature and its connection to the mythological water nymphs, reflecting its beauty and association with aquatic ecosystems.
