Great Egret Nestlings
On 06/03/2025 09:13 am by Cecille Kennedy | Coos Bay, Oregon
A parent great egret feeding one of its nestlings while the other waits for their turn. The parent partially digests food then regurgitates it to the baby which is fed beak to beak. Baby egrets eat mostly fish, also crustaceans, insects, amphibians and small reptiles. It takes 6 go 7 weeks for the babies to fledge or to leave the nest having learned to fly.
