Great Balls of Fire

Sunset over the Pacific Ocean. The sun is breaking free of the dreaded marine layer and May grey as it comes in contact with the horizon creating an Omega Sun.This phenomenon is called “omega sun,” because the shape looks like the Greek letter omega (Ω). It is a mirage caused by the temperature difference in the air and the refraction of the light.
