Fairy Slippers

These beautiful flowers, Fairy Slippers aka Calypso Bulbosa, are one of Montana's most beautiful and unique flowers. They are endangered in a few eastern states. They have a mycorrhizal relationship with certain soil fungi, and they do not transplant well into gardens. I've been watching this group, over the years, starting with two flowers and years later, to fourteen.
