Mars Meets the Beehive Cluster
On 05/01/2025 09:57 pm by Tameem Altameemi | Website | United Arab Emirates
On this night, I captured a beautiful celestial encounter between Mars and the Beehive Cluster (Messier 44) from the sky of the United Arab Emirates.
The Beehive Cluster, also known as Praesepe, is an open star cluster located in the constellation Cancer, approximately 577 light-years away from Earth. It’s one of the nearest and brightest open clusters to our solar system, visible even to the unaided eye under dark skies.
Seeing the red planet passing near this stellar cradle was a reminder of the dynamic and ever-changing beauty of our night sky.
