Great Egret

A lone Great Egret near a lake. This is a small, shallow lake that usually thaws early and remains warm and cozy during the cold days of early Spring. It shows new growth before the rest of the sanctuaries in the forests and larger lake wilderness. No wonder it is a safe haven for the early arrivals like Swans and Egrets.
