Orion Above the Sand Dunes – Gujrat, Pakistan

This image captures the Orion constellation rising over sand dunes near Gujrat, Punjab, Pakistan. The three stars of Orion’s Belt—Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka—are clearly visible at the center. Betelgeuse and Rigel mark the hunter’s shoulders and feet, while hints of the surrounding Milky Way are faintly visible due to the dark skies and low light pollution in the region.

Photographed with a Canon 1300D and a 50mm STM lens. Final image is stack of 130 images. Each if exposure 15s.

As an 18-year-old aspiring astrophotographer, I created this image not just as art, but as a quiet tribute to the science and silence of the universe.

Stacking is done in DSS . 130 images of 15s exposure each were stacked. Processed in siril with final tweaks in Lightroom mobile.
