Here is a detailed view of a lightning strike which passed close to my residence on Murambi Heights on 10th April. This unexpected and unseasonal bolt was of such short duration that it only appeared on six of twelve consecutive video frames captured in the half-second interval during which it took place. The lightning flash with no rain was accompanied by an instantaneous electromagnetic pulse (which produced an audible click or plop) which was followed almost immediately by a deafening thunderclap so loud that it caused temporary hearing loss and continued to reverberate around the environs for more than twenty seconds afterwards! No reports of physical damage have been received but this event was definitely too close for comfort! A real-video of the lightning strike with spectacular sound has been posted to YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7mcZvgJ66A
