Perfect sunset in april
On 04/11/2025 07:20 pm by Teresa Molinaro | Website | Palermo, Sicily
For several years now I have been studying how the Sun, on the date of April 11, goes to "get stuck" on the top of Monte Cuccio, and then gently descends along its sides, setting in the central part, between the two peaks.
Monte Cuccio is a relief made up of sedimentary rocks; with its height of 1,050 meters above sea level it overlooks the city of Palermo, from which it is clearly visible, as well as from the sites bordering it.
The toponym Cuccio derives from the Latin acutius or the Arabic quz, and means "sharp".
It is clear that I have the possibility of cyclically observing this event due to the same position in which I place myself.
