Moth on Petasites
On 04/09/2025 03:26 pm by Cecille Kennedy | Oregon Coast, Oregon
A solitary day moth, with a mere wingspan of about one inch (25.4 millimeters), flits about the petasites flowers. It;s hard to see since it blends well with the blossoms. A reverse image search identified this pretty moth as a Half-white Carpet moth. also called Western White-ribboned moth, found in North America. Their presence is a sure sign of spring.
