Wild Monkeys of Silver Springs

After over a year of kayaking at our favorite spot @silverspringsstatepark we were finally able to see the wild monkeys! 🐵

Silver Springs is known for their rhesus macaques, a species of monkeys that was introduced to the area in 1930 by a tour boat operator. Colonel Tooey brought the monkeys to a small island in the area to boost tourism and create a “Tarzan-like” atmosphere.
