Orange Belts Sipping Nectar
On 03/29/2025 02:58 pm by Cecille Kennedy | Depoe Bay, Oregon
Two orange-belted bumblebees also known as tricolored bumblebee (Bombus ternarius) are sipping the nectar of coltsfoot flowers. This kind of coltsfoot is Petasites frigidus var. palmatus, a common wildflower in the Pacific Northwest. They bloom first then the large leaves emerge later.
