Inquisitive Killdeer

While visiting the Warm Springs Wildlife Management Area outside of Anaconda, Montana, we stopped at a boating access to look at the multitude of waterfowl. Instead, we were being watched by this Killdeer. These birds nest on the ground and to deter a predator from their eggs and young, the adults will fake an injury to attract the predator to them. They will also cause quite a ruckus!
