Chasing the Blood Moon: A Thrilling Adventure!
On 03/13/2025 11:26 pm by Jelieta Walinski Ph.D | Website | Puerto Blanco Dr., Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument
We just returned from an unforgettable journey, braving the elements to capture the breathtaking Blood Moon. Despite initial forecasts of rain, we decided to take a chance and drive to Saguaro National Park West. However, as the radio warned of an impending storm, we made a bold decision to push through the tempest.
Rain, wind, and a haboob couldn't deter us! My husband's persistence paid off as we arrived at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, where the skies finally cleared. As the moon began to rise, I positioned myself for the shot, armed with my trusty Canon gear:
Canon 5DS with 16-35mm
Canon 1DX with 70-200mm lens
Canon 1DX MII with 800mm lens
Seestar
We ended our journey at Puerto Blanco Dr. inside the Organ Pipe National Monument, AZ, USA. The Blood Moon did not disappoint, and we were rewarded with stunning views.
