The Witch Head Nebula, also known as IC 2118, is a beautiful and eerie reflection nebula located approximately 900 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Eridanus.
This nebula is a type of interstellar cloud that reflects the light from nearby stars, giving it a ghostly appearance. With an apparent magnitude of 13, it's a popular target for astrophotographers and astronomers.
The Witch Head Nebula gets its name from its resemblance to a witch's head, with the dark nebula Barnard 33 forming the "head" and the reflection nebula IC 2118 creating the "face." The nebula's unique shape and appearance make it a standout in the night sky.
