Multiple Green Flash

According to Astronomy Professor Andrew Young and expert on the Green Flash , a complex thermal structure with alternating light winds created this layered cake structure of inversion close to the surface. As the sun passed through these layers it distorted and miraged as did the visible sunspots. The multiple green flash in this image were clearly visible to the 60 or so people watching at the gate of the Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego . It was a dazzling display.
