Occultation of Antares by the Moon

A beautiful occultation of Antares by the Moon was visible this morning in this part of Chile. The beginning of the occultation was difficult to see with the naked eye as Antares approached the brightly illuminated part of the Moon. A little more than an hour later, the reddish star became visible again and formed a nice contrast to the dark part of the moon and the night sky.
