We flew on a 10-passenger seaplane on an excursion from the Key West International Airport to Fort Jefferson, sighted by Ponce de Leon, built by slaves and Union soldiers, converted to a prison which held Dr. Samuel Mudd, the physician who set the broken leg of John Wilkes Booth.
