Full Moon Rising among Cumulus Clouds 7.35-8.05 pm.

In the evening on Thursday 13th February, partial clearance of rainy season overcast left a few growing cumulus clouds along the horizon to the north-east. This provided an opportunity to await the rise of the still almost Full Moon above Cecil Kop Nature Reserve. About a quarter of an hour before scheduled Moonrise a rapidly growing dark cumulus cloud developed at almost the exact location that the Moon was anticipated to appear. At first there was only some bright pre-moonrise glow which outlined the growing cumulus formation and illuminated some more distant iridescent clouds. However with patience and persistence it was possible to observe and record the appearance of the Moon which for the following half hour played a fascinating game of hide and seek with growing extensions of cloud which eventually encroached and concealed it.
