Super Sunspot Region AR3976/77/78/81 in Full Bloom!
On 02/02/2025 11:49 am by David Hawkes | Sheffield, UK
Solar activity is starting to ramp up with an impressive super sunspot region covering a portion of the northern hemisphere which must be ~250000 miles at its longest dimension. We should expect more high M flares (possibly an X-flare?) and CMEs and more auroral activity to come, with a region as large and complex as this one?
Skywatcher 8” Newtonian, Seymour Solar 9.5” glass white light solar filter, Nikon D3200.
Registax 6 plus cropping and minor contrast edits.
